What is the maximum distance for a single extraction using Kabel-X ?
The maximum distance for a single extraction is around 400 meters depending upon cable type. The average distance for a single extraction is 125 meters.
-
What types of cables can be extracted with Kabel-X ?
Any type of telecommunication cable which can only ever be, lead, aluminium, steel welded, copper, or pvc, and also coaxial or power cable. It works right up to the socket in house.
-
What is the average time to extract a cable?
Depending upon the type of cable and including the cable preparation, the pumping of the fluid and the extraction, the process takes anywhere between 1.5 to 5 hours.
-
How many meters of cable can a team extract in one day?
A team of 4 people can extract over 600 meters per day. The average is 450 metres is an urban environment. In open country a team can do 900 metres.
-
Can you extract around bends or curves?
Yes.
-
How do you know if the jacket housing the cable is intact and not broken?
The jacket is tested under air pressure to ensure integrity. Additionally the cable itself can be tested to establish if there is “leakage”
-
What if the network plan is out of date and may not show where all the joins exist?
There is a technology available that will detect the joins within a tolerance of 1.5metres.
-
Can this system work on live cables?
Yes, but live cables must be cut and an alternative connection put in place while work is carried out if customer continuity is essential. This is done either through wireless solutions or temporary above ground cable.
-
Can cables within ducts be extracted and replaced?
Yes, in fact many cables in ducts have often become fused together or jammed with sediment as a result of flooding leaving Kabel X as the only method capable of upgrading ducted cable.
-
Can cables leading up to and inside buildings be extracted and replaced?
Yes, using the very latest Kabel X technology wires as small as 2 pairs can be replaced.
-
Is the Kabel-X fluid harmful to the environment?
No, the Kabel-X fluid is completely harmless to flora and fauna. The fluid is 100% biodegradable and carries a certificate to that effect from the European Union, and has full EPA approval in the USA.
-
How much cable has been upgraded using the Kabel-X system?
Thousands of kilometers of cable has been successfully upgraded using the Kabel-X system. The technology and equipment has been well proven over a wide variety of terrains and environments.
-
Is the process patented ?
The process is patented in over 120 countries.
-
Do Kabel-X licence this technology ?
